Our Annual Fundraising Event is scheduled sometime around Super Bowl Sunday, hence the name. The event includes Instruction by an EGA instructor, a complete stitching kit, continental breakfast, and lunch.

Super Bowl of Stitches 2016 Hungarian Embroidery – Buzsák Beginnings
An introduction to Hungarian folk embroidery featuring one of the styles of needlework practiced in the small village of Buzsák. Stitched on red or white cotton with perle cotton and Patina rayon, this piece features blanket stitch variations, open & detached chain, Hungarian braid, feather stitch, and fishbone stitch.

Super Bowl of Stitches 2015 Boutis(Stuffed French Quilting)
Boutis is a type of embroidery from the Provence region of France. It consists of two layers of translucent cotton stitched together and filled with yarn.

This is a Japanese running-stitch technique that was used to hold layers of fabric together. It is traditionally done in white Sashiko thread on an indigo-dyed ground fabric. Designed and instructed by Ann Perkins, stitched by Val Reece, made into a placemat.
